Hot Water Bottle Anyone?

Well I don't know about you, but I'm freezing. Okay, so technically I'm not, but it was white on the roads this morning and I spotted the occasional frosty windscreen as I drove to work. I think last night was the first time this winter that the temperature dropped to zero. Brrr.

The only heater I have in The Plotting Shed is a small fan that I bought a few years ago from a local shop for about £8. However, fingerless gloves, several scarves, warm boots and cups of tea help a little.

Grumps doesn't seem too bothered, as long as he has his daily dental chew and the odd biscuit when we're out there, he spends the rest of his time sleeping on his new chair.

All I can say is, roll on summer!

This Year I'm Going To...

My resolutions for this year are to live, laugh and love. That's it.

Every year I make the same resolutions to find an agent, get published, lose weight, eat more healthily, etc. Then, the other day when I was sitting in my shed, I noticed this sign Rob bought me a few months ago.

I do spend a lot of time thinking about, planning, working on my writing. I do exercise, by walking the dog and sometimes by messing about on the Wii with my daughter; I eat well, but also eat chocolate and drink wine some evenings; I work hard at my job, but I love it. I don't have an agent and haven't yet seen my books in the shops, but apart from the few things I still hope for, I do have a great life.

So, instead of wanting more, this year my only resolutions (while I still work hard at my writing, of course) is to Live, Laugh, Love and make sure I enjoy every damn moment.

Happy New Year!

We're ready for 2012, are you?

Grumps helped me sweep the shed earlier yesterday (if you can call trying to kill the broom helping) and now I'm ready to get writing. I've had a few weeks without my writing because I thought it would be nice to make the most of having my son, daughter and various family members in the island for Christmas. However, I'm now itching to get going again. It doesn't suit me not to write for too long and I can't wait to get started with a new book and polishing others.

So, I'd like to wish you a very healthy (most importantly) 2012 and may this year be filled with lots of writerly success for us all.

I'm looking forward to the paperback copy of, Tears and Laughter and Happy Ever After, coming out in the near future (more info about that as soon as I have it); reading new books for Novelicious, for Women's Fiction Thursday, and writing/editing and keeping in touch with you all over the next twelve months.

Happy 2012!
