Three Weeks & Three Days To Go

Thank heavens for Lemsip capsules & Benylin cough mixture, because as I'm not one to suffer unnecessarily, these concoctions have kept me going for the past couple of days. I woke this morning, a little confused, as I'd dreamt that I was at work - how cruel is that, to have to be at work when awake, and asleep - only to find that I was a shivering wreck and even moving my eyeballs hurt like hell. So I phoned my line manager, croaked down the phone and went back to sleep until 1pm! This coming from someone that barely needs five or six hours of sleep most nights too.

Having realized that it's only three weeks and three days until 16 (yes, that's 16) people come to the house for Christmas lunch, and I've bought...well, let's have a think...yes, I've bought a box of turkish delight! Big wow. I think it's about time I got a little more into the spirit of the whole thing and at least started to shop for some presents. It must be lovely to be a Beckham, or Rooney and not have to think about the cost of all these festivities, but I suppose I'll just have to get on with it and see how it goes.

I'm not doing Christmas cards this year - I say this every year, and still end up doing the damn things. Bah Humbug.

And Turkish Delight for Christmas dinner? Got room for a little one at your table??

You do realise that Rooney and Beckham have to work on Boxing Day - they have it tough eh?
I think I'd enjoy Christmas more if there were 16 of us altogether on Christmas Day.

I always say I won't do Christmas cards too and then they start arriving from the old Aunties and I give in.

Hope you feel much better soon. Thank goodness for Lemsip:-)

Nooo! I hate those dreams when you're too busy to appreciate a well-deserved sleep. Get well soon!

As long as there's loads of wine, people won't even notice if you only give them Turkish Delight to eat x

Aw, take care. Don't think about Christmas while you're still feeling poorly. When you feel better... do it all on the internet.

Hugs.

So you didn't manage to avoid the full blown flu after all (I really should start at the latest post and work down rather than the other way round when I've missed a couple of posts). Hope you feel better soon and I recommend a very strong hot toddy...kill or cure :-)

Hmmm....can you ask people to bring a dish with them? That way your not stuck with all the work and all the expense (A group of us got together last year and did that last year)

tam - aww thanks, cough, splutter.

You're more than welcome to come and join us open the box of Turkish Delight.

east anglian troy - that's true, mind you I wouldn't mind having a bit of their salary.

It will be fine, once I get a little better organized.

lane - me too, in fact, I've received some today :( so had better get to the shops.

I need more Lemsip, I think.

pat - thanks.

melissa marsh - thanks, you too.

TF - I think you're right, I'm going to find some.

chrisH - I know, they're a pain.

helenmh - I suppose not, I'll have to remember that.

jj - S has said the same thing, I think I shall take the advice.

jan - they are a lovely idea, yum.

carol & chris - thankfully I dont have a high temperature, as that is really ghastly, I just look and feel revolting.

I'm sure I'll have some help bringing bits and pieces.

LWM - I'm sure it will all sort itself out at some point, I hope.

I have just recovered from this vile bug. Hope you are better now.

Agree about Christmas. Am puting head in sand despite the fact that 10 people will be staying for at least four days.

susie vereker - it is a bit of a ghastly one, isn't it. Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Thankfully, my guests (apart from two step-sons) will all be leaving by early/mid evening.

Hope you get better soon, at least you won't be ill for Christmas/New Year! Which I suspect we will be :( as it is sweeping round N3S class at the moment and I always get ill when I have time off work. It hurt moving your eyeballs? Sounds like seasonal flu for sure.

DJ kirkby - I still feel a bit crook?! Hope you're okay for Christmas, that would be a horrible time to be ill, far too busy, as well as wanting to enjoy yourself.

karen - I know, I must be insane, but what can you do? NYE will be quiet, hopefully, with only R, self and Grumps.
