Busy Bee

I've started reading Fiona Robyn's debut novel, The Letters, and it's great. It's about Violet Ackerman, who after bringing up four children and going through a divorce, moves to the coast and starts receiving mysterious letters sent from a mother and baby home back in 1959. These letters, written by a pregnant young girl all those years before come into Violet's life although she has no idea who is sending them to her, or why. I can't wait to find out.

It's was so warm and sunny that Grumps and I were planting Primroses, Fuschia bulbs, foxglove/Lupin/Aster seeds before 8am this morning. Well, I was doing the planting, and he was busily pushing his nose into all the freshly dug earth.

I've finished my next writing course assignment and will post that in a bit, and tonight J & S return from a week snowboarding with their father. So, my peace will be shattered, but it'll be lovely to see them again. For five minutes, at least.

Have a great weekend.

Oh no, not another book to go on my list!!!

Gardening before 8am? Wow. I don't do anything before 8am unless life, or the school run, depends on it! Well done you.

Love the sound of that book, another one for the list!

I'm very impressed with the gardening, it'll be a couple more months before I can face getting out there!

Sound like just my sort of book.

I too am starting to think about my garden. It was so beautiful out there today I had to go and sweep the patio down.

Oh well I hope I did some writing done tomorrow.

Best wishes my dear friend,

Annie

Debs, this book sounds lovely, and intriguing.

It has to be fun planting flowers! While we here in the NE States are under snow again.

Take care,

That book does sound great. We've got spring bulbs starting to come through which is lovely - I don't do gardening though, will just have to leave the garden to get on with it!

Gardening? every time I try to plant something the squirrels dig it up! The flowers sound beautiful and good luck with course. I really would love to do one.

chrish - well done, it feels good, doesn't it.

motherx - I love squirrels but haven't ever seen one in my garden. Mind you the dog would have a fit if one did appear.

Sounds an interesting book. My current reading is a bit different, "The Airman" by Eoin Colfer, which is for 11+ age group but is good fun with lots of swash and buckling.
Nice to be abck
