Bookersatz Review & Chocolate Eating

The lovely ladies at the fabulous Bookersatz site, where they review books of all genre, taste and style, have very kindly posted my review on Denyse Kirkby's excellent book, From Zaftig to Aspie.

So please pop over, have a read and even leave a comment if you'd like to (pretty please). It's the first book I've ever reviewed, so please be gentle.

I had a wonderful Mothers day, and the first one for eleven years where I woke up to my children in the same house as me, as Mothers Day always seems to be on a Sunday when they're at their father's house for the weekend. However, this weekend, he was going out for the evening, and as I didn't see the point of them being at his house when he wasn't there, especially when they could be at home with me, I kept them. It was the best present - although the enormous box of chocolates and the gorgeous card was a wonderful bonus.

I was also given a pretty orchid, small box of chocolates, and a funny card from Grumps, but I have a sneaky feeling that R was somehow behind those gifts. I've now managed to almost eat my weight in chocolate, not an easy thing to do, and strangely enough still am happy to eat more. Chocoholic, moi? Surely not.

PS I even finished, and posted, my tax form!

Glad you had a happy Mothering Sunday, Debs. Grumps must be better if he took R to choose such gorgeous prezzies!

Glad you had a lovely special day. There is something special about being spoilt by your kids ( and your pets!). My little ones proudly chose their presents themselves which were a little 'unusual' but with Daddy's guidance managed to choose a white rose bush (my fav) for the garden.
So pleased it was a special time

Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. I read it on Sunday and posted a link to it from my blog. Your mother's day sounds delightful, did Grumpy sign the card himself? I didn't get any choclate this year but I did get a new garden :) Congrats on finishing your tax forms, I hated that so much when I lived in Canada, I hope it never becomes a must do in England.

You sound as though you had a lovely day and how thoughtful of Grumpy!
I shall go and read your review now:) and thank you by the way for your comments on weight...I'm just dwelling on the fact I used to be 7stone 12...many years ago :)

Just been over to Bookersatz and left a comment (I'm a sucker for a "pretty please"). You've done an excellent review.
Am rather concerned about your chocolate intake - do I detect literary licence in your wording? (I however also notice a non definitive timeframe and suspect we eat our body weight in virtually everything over a long enough period. It's observations like this that make Mrs Troy tell me that I need to "get a job").

Thanks so much. DJs book is wonderful.

A new garden, how wonderful. I love my garden so much.

Glad you had such a great day. I didn't get the chocs (got them for my birthday though) but got a lovely plant, not quite the whole new garden that DJ got (am going to have to do that one myself).

And if you ever get fed up with the chocolate I'm here.

Hmm, feel for you on the 'Dad's weekend' bit - have got a few years of that behind me, too. My two are all grown up now but still make a nice fuss of me. Well done on the review.

claire p - sounds like you had a lovely day too.

If I ever get fed up of chocolate, I have a chocoholic daughter who would take over any that was left :)

helen - thanks so much, I hope so too.

chrish - I'm used to it now, but my dad always feels sorry for me when I don't have them, bless him.

Thanks.

cc devine - so true.

Thanks for reading the review.
