December Already?

Oh no, it's nearly that time again. I can't believe it's only 24 days until Christmas Day and 20 shopping days left. Groan.

I haven't started shopping, in fact I've only got a vague idea (an understatement if ever there was one) what I'm going to buy people.

As far as my writing is concerned I have detailed lists of what I'm hoping to achieve including writing/editing a few short stories for submission to magazines and a few competitions (well, one can only give it a try), sending out HH&S into the big scary world out there, and plotting and researching for the book I'm going to start writing on 1st January, as well as piles of books I want to read in the next few weeks.

Now, if only I can muster up the same sort of enthusiasm for Christmas, I'd soon be sorted.

I know - it's unbelievable it's December already isn't it. No idea when I'm going to do my Christmas shopping - my have to do it all online this year.

I'm not enthusiastic either. Even though, if all goes according to plan, I'll be having my best Xmas/New Year for years. But it starts too early, goes on too long and is too commercial, which takes much of the fun out of it for me.

Well its not too long until the shortest day and then slowly but surely it will start getting lighter in the evening.
I hate winter - only thing worse is Christmas! (Bah humbug).

It is scary how fast Christmas is approaching.

At least you're organised in other areas. I seem to be experiencing a completely disorganised phase.

I've got a Christening Gown to make before 13th December, and the lace I ordered a week last Thursday hasn't come yet. (Grrrrrr....) I refuse to panic. Christmas? When's that?

I'm trying to get myself into the Christmas spirit - can hardly believe it's that time of year already!

I feel exactly the same - feel far more enthusiastic about reading and writing rather than Christmas preparations.

You are very organized on the writing front and that's much more important!

I know-- it's really scary that it's almost here!

Talking about short stories-- do you ever write any flash fiction? If so, there is an emag looking for submissions. And-- you can always join Lindsay Townsend on her blog with a flash fiction story about some aspect of christmas.
I think you have this but if not, email me. kayemanro at yahoo dot com If you are interested or know anyone who is.

I am so so so impressed with your writing enthusiasm. (Mine is stuck in a rut somewhere) I still can't wuite get over the fact that you wrote a NaNo novel. For that reason alone you should be entitled to your Christmas shopping happening by magic.

I have to get my twin boys' birthdays out of the way on the
1st Dec before I can think about Christmas. No wonder I'm always last minute with everything!

Good luck with your submissions :o)

This is the time of the year when going to work really horns in on what you NEED to be doing, Debs! :-)

I hope you'll get some time off in Dec. to do all the decking of the halls, cooking, gift buying, and parties--and get ready for the January writing sprint. Marathon?
