All That Mullarkey, Awards & Moving On

I was thrilled when my copy of Sue Moorcroft's book arrived in the post this week and ended up reading All That Mullarkey in one sitting. So good. She writes so well and her hero (as with the one in her previous book, Starting Over, is still in my head. Well worth a read.

Thanks to DJ Kirkby for this fun award she gave me last week. Sorry I'm a little late posting it. Her Wordless Wednesday photos are brilliant and the comments hilarious. I love her blog.

After a few lurgy-filled days, I'm now feeling much better and working on my manuscript for the RNA's NWS. I have until the end of August to send this in, but want to submit it soon as the summer is always busy with visits from family and friends, so intend sending it off in about three/four weeks.

It's my last day at work on Thursday. It's going to feel strange moving on after nine years with the same people, but our company has made many acquisitions and in the years I've been there, we've moved offices twice and the number of employees has risen from about 25 to 180. So, having got used to different managers, directors, teams and systems, I don't think this change will be too difficult - she says hopefully. In fact, dare I say it, I'm quite excited, a little nervous too, and looking forward to getting the first week over with, but will be glad to get on with it.

I must look into Sue's book! Looks great.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Lurgy is horrible - especially in the summer.

Good luck with your MS! I submitted last year to the NWS and it was such a tremendous help.

That's funny about Wordless Wednesday!

Good luck with your MS, Debs. As much as you read and review, I can imagine how good you actually write! I can't wait to see your work published.

Moving on to a new job is not easy, but you seem really prepared, so it will be fine I'm sure, once you make the adjustment.

Have a great Sunday!

Oops! Thought you had already moved on to new job, Debs. It will be good to get that first week under your belt. Hope you soon discover a few good work pals who can help make that job move easier.

Another blog friend who will soon have writing published--that's exciting. We must all help you promote your work. I'll do a review for Tuesday Teaser book meme--get you exposure to maybe 20 potential readers! :-)

Keeping everything crossed for your novel, Debs. The RNA has been brilliantly helpful to me. All the very best of luck for your first day in your new job, and congratulations on your success. I bought a copy of Sue's latest book on Saturday (and got it signed). I'm half way through 'Starting Over' and loving it. I agree - Sue is a star and her writing is vivid and original.

Also well done for planning on getting your NWS m/s in early. That seems like a very good plan.
