The Weekend Cometh - Thankfully

Another Friday, and it couldn't come quick enough. Up until yesterday it still felt warm and summery, but somehow today there's a distinct chill in the air. Although that could be psychological because it was so much darker when I crawled out of my bed this morning, and to be honest, I'm dying for an excuse to start lighting fires in the lounge once more.

The house seems emptier without my noisy son - whom I notice is having a ball at uni and appears to be spending all his time partying (lucky devil) - but it makes me think back to when he was little. How did that naughty (I'm not kidding, he was horrendous) little boy, grow up to be a man?

I love the things children do and say, and am looking forward to this new tv series, Tarrant Lets The Kids Loose, (Sunday, 6pm on Watch). In it, they secretly film children as they carry out different challenges, then show the children the films in front of a live audience. I've seen a preview and it looks great fun.

You can see Chris Tarrant being interviewed here, here, here, and here

Right, I'm off to finish reading I Do, I Do, I Do by Samantha Scott-Jeffries for Little Black Dress. You'll soon be able to read my review on Novelicious.

Have a great weekend.

Debs, I know what you mean about wondering how they went from little boy to big boy/man.... I don't know how it's happening.

I am ready for the weekend, too!

We definitely have chilly weather now. The wind is blowing something fierce and the flags are just snapping outside my window.

I can't wait to turn on the fireplace!

queenie - I love having a fire as it's one of the better parts of winter.

jj - it seems to happen without us realizing it too.

melissa - it's quite exciting really, though no doubt the novelty will soon wear off.

anna - I shall do so.

chad - you too.

Weekend, yay!

Sounds like the cozy weather is setting in. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather here in the tropics too. My favorite time of year!

I wonder the same about my son. The years just whooshed by! He wasn't really naughty, though... The term we used was 'very active'. ;)

It's chilling down where I live too. Alas, winter is creeping in too soon for me.

Glad your son is having a ball at uni. Yes, it's amazing how children improve over the years!

Must go and put the heating on.

Thanks for being a great blogger.

liane - my son was a total pain from 17 months until he was about six, then he slowly became the lovely chap he is now.

amanda - Christmas? Oh no, better start making lists then.

kaye - Chimney sweep has been booked, so nearly ready to light those fires.

susie - R doesn't want to put the heating on yet, but I know he'll give in soon. Thankfully it's not that cold quite yet. Nearly though.

I'm putting off switching the heating on but I know it's got to happen some time very soon:-(

Glad your son has settled at uni. Very well by the sound of it:-)

lane - Chimney sweep has been booked, so at least I'll be able to light a fire soon.

So relieved J has taken to uni life so immediately. Have hardly heard from him.

You have a real fire? WOW! I'll be over with a bag of marshmallows and a bar of chocolate. We can some toasting. Cheers! ;-) Tfx

Know what you mean about a chill in the air - we've had the heating on for a couple of months now. It was the trees that got me - 1st October it was like the flick of a switch, the leaves came tumbling down.

Glad your son's enjoying uni. They grow up too fast, though.

Cute pic.

tf - I love having a real fire. Bring that toasting fork and those marshmallows asap

suzanne - the trees and Virginia Creeper look lovely at the moment, but in no time at all they will be bare and stark.

jan - I dont mind the winter when I'm warm inside looking out onto the cold and damp.

carol - my chimney is being swept next friday, can't wait.

bluestocking mum - I can imagine, my hubby refuses to put the heating on until after 26 Oct, next year it will be 27th!
