Most Wanted

January is a month of remembering birthdays, renewing subscriptions, and an especially busy time at work. So, despite endless list writing, and rewriting (sounds like my books) I've somehow managed to forget to buy my Dog Licence. So, he (see photo of culprit) is now unlicenced and if I don't get a flippin' move on, I'll be liable for yet another fine.

The good, no great news this week was that Sas finally had her braces removed yesterday. Her teeth are beautiful and it's strange seeing her without a mouthful of metal. She's done so well putting up with it all for the past sixteen months and can now bite into an apple. Thankfully, she hasn't had any problem with chocolate, as that really would have been a nightmare.

I've been fascinated to watch little Charlie Simpson's JustGiving page increasing continuously. The amount this little boy has managed to raise with his fundraising for Haiti is incredible.

I didnt know you had to have dog licences, Debs. I wish they'd introduce them back here again - I'm sure dogs can only benefit. How do you get a fine? Who finds out you dont have a licence?

I've been following Charlie Simpson too, I hope he makes it to £200K.

Debs
I know what you mean about the struggle to keep track of when things are due to be paid etc My list seems endless at the mo ! Renewing passports is the worst hassle..it all has to be just right or you have to start again..AARgh ! :)

And I bet through all this, you are just wanting to get away from it all back to your little shed so you can bury yourself in your writing.

flowerpot - we have to get them at the parish hall down the road. They know if you've had a licence before and are therefore on their records. I was told off last year for being late, but they were sweet about it.

There's a warning in the local paper, JEP, which they assume everyone reads over here (most do) and so I suppose there's no excuse for not getting one.

queenie - me too. I think he's doing so well.

becky - renewing passports is a complete pain. Thankfully I have a couple of years before redoing ours.

kareng - definately. It's my favorite place to be, especially when it's a little warmer.

Goodness - a dog licence! That takes me back a bit - a very good idea though even if it is yet another thing to remember and put on our neverending lists of things to do!

My neice has just had her brace off and, like you, each time I look at her she looks lovely but so different without her metal gnashers! :-)

Grumps looks a bit wild in that photo, as if aware he's on the lam... :)))

Yeah for Sas!! I bet she has a lovely smile... And I hope some sun peeks through soon!

He doesn't look too worried to me and so glad the braces did the trick, can't have been much fun.

Gosh, I didn't know you needed a licence either....and has it really been that long since Sas had her braces fitted? (I remember reading about that at the time!!)

I'm glad her teeth are beautiful and it's all been worth it

Poor Grumpy, though from his pic, he doesn't seem to care at all!

Yea! on the great smile and being able to eat apples again. I remember what that was like too.

At least with his colouring you only need to buy a black and white licence rather than the more expensive colour licence.

serendipity - I only made it to the Parish Hall with 10 minutes to spare. After that it would have been a £10 fine.

Sas's teeth look lovely, and she is so relieved not to have to deal with the braces any more.

anna - he does look a little loopy, but then he is.

sheepish - I think the worst thing about the braces was that it hurt each time she went and had them tightened. Poor thing.

carol - I didn't realize other places didn't do the dog licences.

S is so happy with her teeth, and it's well worth all the trouble.

kaye - he's only bothered about eating, walking on the beach and being fed as often as he can get away with.

troy - lol, I like it. He is supposed to be Salt & Pepper apparently.

You have to get dogs licensed? A mouth full of beautiful teeth...I'd love that. I've given you an award over at mine. x

Erm... the last comment was from me, not Chopper! He forgot to sign out. xo

dj - lol. I recently sent a wall-to-wall comment to my son, when my daughter was on FB. She was also talking to her friend on FB & I ended up calling her friend darling instead of my son. S was horrified that her friend would think she was calling her darling, so I had to let the friend know it was me! So confusing.

Oh no I hope you don't get another fine. I have to make endless lists as I have loads to remember and I'm quite forgetful so thats not exactly a winning combination.

I have to write everything down these days - memory isn't what it used to be.

You're right, Debs, about January. Now what have I forgotten? Trouble is, I don't always remember to look at the diary these days.

Deborah Carr (Debs) said...

lily s - I'm sure there are still things I've forgotten to do, despite all my lists.

suzanne - me too. It's such a pain.

susie - lol, I know that feeling too.

Which reminds me, I need to renew my passport. I'm travelling a bit this year, and it expires in Aug. Now they hassle you if it expires within 6 months of your trip.

Dog license, passport, same thing, right? ;)

Grumps the 'Outlaw'. I think he's quite enjoying his new criminal status.

I had no idea you needed a dog license! Wonder if you need a cat one:)
Tony is the one for picking up fines in our house...I could strangle him!!

Ooh, I panicked there for a minute, and then remembered we don't need one here in England! :-)))

Oh wow. That's the first I'd heard of Charlie raising that money. What a cutie.

January subscriptions and stuff are a pain! *Sigh* I had an informal New Year's resolution to remember birthdays this year... I failed twice in January.

There is an award over at mine for you :-)

Devon - unfortunately renewing a passport means much more form filling and greater expense. I'm glad I don't have to do mine for a while yet.

helen - lol, he is a bit of an outlaw. All he needs is a stetson and neckerchief.

motherx - cats don't need licences, which is a relief for their owners.

amanda - I wonder why we do have to have them if England doesn't. They're usually fairly similar with their rules.

jj - I dread forgetting birthdays and know of at least one that I missed in January.

carol - ooh, thanks. Will go and have a look now.
