A Week Off Work

We've had some incredible sunsets lately. This picture is of the sun going down last night, I think it looks rather like a huge blood orange.

I can't believe we've had such amazing weather over the Easter weekend, the days have been so hot that it's felt like the middle of July. Long may it last. I was out with the girls on Thursday evening and had a great time at Rach's house catching up over bubbles and a delicious chicken curry she'd cooked. On Friday I was a little quieter than usual, thanks to an over indulgence, but still made the most of the sunshine and read in the sun for most of the day.

On Saturday, I met up with my fabulous friend, Christina Jones for lunch with her lovely husband, daughter and son-in-law and it was great to catch up with her again. Sunday was another day of reading in the sunshine and on Monday I planted over 60 plants. The garden should look very colourful in the summer, but I'm a little achy from all the bending and digging.

I've got the next few days off work and today I've collated all the paperwork so that I can complete my Tax Return. It's one of those things that won't take long to do, but I absolutely hate doing it. I've also set up a new HP printer delivered from Play.com today and downloaded a book to my Kindle, which took far longer than it should have done, but I can never remember how to do it and Sas is at the beach with her friends!

Now, I'm off to write some reviews and then it's time to work on the last 30k words of my WiP.

So, what have you been doing?

Don't you just love the beginnings of a week off work? The possibilities seem endless--a little friends' catchup, dreaded chores like tax returns, and then getting things in order inside and out. We'll look forward to photos of the summer garden, Debs. Enjoy your down time.

Hasn't the weather been amazing? It's chilly here today but that's okay because I'm back at my desk. :)

A little quieter than usual? Ha. Love it. I shall use that in future. "I'm not hungover, I'm just a little quieter than usual..."

That sun is an amazing colour and it sounds like you had a wonderful Easter :o)

It's quite cold here today, so I think our summer is over!

faye - I've been looking forward to this week so much and having such glorious weather makes it perfect. I must just make sure I get all the things done on my lengthy To Do list.

shirley - LOL! Yes, maybe hungover was the correct terminology.

karen - you must have been commenting at the same time I was and I missed you out of my comment. Sorry.

The sun was an amazing colour and so huge. It was glorious. It's a little cooler here too, unfortunately.

Debs, it is great to hear that the UK is having such fab weather you all deserve this after your long cold winter. And doesn't the sun make you feel great? I love the sun, though of late I've sat too long at my desk working on latest book. Though can't wait to hear when we will have the pleasure of reading yours. Have a fantastic holdiay. x

Been great weather here too - lots of walking here, (certain amount of weeping), went to a private view, out for supper, and read a lot in the sunshine. Oh yes and I've been planting too!

Ahhh...days off from work. Bliss! I'm glad you're enjoying the sunshine as it seems to have disappeared here!

I hosted Easter at my home this year, so I have done far too much cooking and cleaning lately. Yesterday I was home sick with a headache and today I am back at work - with hopes to work on the novel tonight!

Time off work... heavenly!... and then the tax return, ouch! Have a lovely break.
That sunset looks unreal, like a round pink Chinese lantern. What an amazing planet we inhabit.

pauline - I, too, look forward to that day!

I love the sunshine, it makes me feel as if I'm on holiday, even when I have to go to the office. It's a little cooler now, but still glorious.

flowerpot - you've done so very well. Hugs to you. I love reading about your walks too, they're always so inspirational and make me want to pack up and follow the routes you take.

melissa - you sound as if you've been busy. I do hope you're feeling much better now and are able to get on with your writing as much as you'd like.

leigh - I agree. It never ceases to amaze me when I see the sun/moon/stars looking so magnificent. We're so lucky to be able to enjoy them.

I presume you won't be doing the whole 30k words in one sitting ;)

Yes, we've had some wonderful sunsets here. I'm lucky to live where I do too and see a different one every evening.

Enjoy the time off work. And hopefully eat into those 30k words
xx

We have had some glorious weather this past week.
We had our annual holiday early this year, to fit around my daughter's exams, and did not expect good weather.

Good luck with the writing

Yes, that sun does indeed look beautiful. This time of year always gives great sky views. It's been a long weekend, enjoyable, but long!

Gosh you sound busy. I've actually written 1300 words for the first time in several months now the medication for my thryoid has kicked in. Whoo! The gorgeous sunny weather helps too, :O)

bluestocking mum - no maybe not all at one sitting, but wouldn't that be nice?

carol - it makes all the difference having such fabulous weather when the children are off. Long may it last.

gran - I hope you have a relaxing week off and get some of those chores out of the way. I'm aiming to do my tax form today. Such fun.

cj - my daughter is a little older, so has been out and about with friends and my weekend has been fairly quiet. Bliss.

I can imagine you must have fantastic sunsets where you live.

madeleine - well done you, that's great news. Glad all is going well.

Glad to hear you've had such a great weekend, Debs. Our weather hasn't been quite so warm here in Scptland, but we're just grateful if it doesn't rain!

All the best with those remaining words. I'm getting ready for the cyber launch of my first novel next week, so that's taking priority.
