Happy Faces

This obviously isn't one.

Poor Grumps was not at all amused when I put his coat on during the last cold spell, and although I left it on in the car on the way to the beach, I did take it off for his walk (well, run). He doesn't mind it too much, and as he has a sore back a lot of the time, I don't like him to get too cold.

The rest of the family, however, groan when I dig out one of his coats. Yes, he has three. This one, his fighter pilots one (well, it's brown with a fake sheepskin bit at the top)and his high visibility one. When J heard on the forecast this morning that we're going to be getting another cold spell, he laughed. "That poor dog, I suppose you're going to put a coat on him again."

Poor S is off school today. She had another visit to the orthodontist yesterday and I could see by the way his hand shook as he pressed on the new brace fitting that it must be hurting her.

This morning she feels rather sore, and after much pleading had been allowed the day off. When I asked what subjects she had today, she said, "Oh nothing that's going to be useful for me when I leave school."

I then asked what subjects they were, and she said. "Textiles PSHE, chemistry, and english." English, not useful?

Grumpy has such an expressive face! It must be difficult to refuse him anything! Tell him from me he looks very smart in his coat!

Oh dear! I was sought out and approached by a new Anglo in th area to ask where she might buy dogs coats for her terrier..do I look like the sort of person who'd know I wondered? Wish I'd know you had them I could ahve asked you!!

Wish I could get Molly into a coat - Grumpy looks so cute :o)

My daughter suffered terribly whenever her brace was tightened - used to get a really bad headache the next day. Never having had one, I had no idea the whole process was so unpleasant :o(

Sympathies re the brace. I think she jolly well deserves the day off school. You'd better tell though that English just might come in useful one day. :o)

Grumps is utterly gorgeous. Can't wait to see him in his fighter pilot's coat.

Debs, when the bloke from stoke takes the grinch out, he (TBFS) looks like the michelin man with his many layers of warmth but will not let Flynn wear a coat. He's a terrier, he screams. He catches rats. Just as well then that Flynn doesn't stop running....x

Loved daughters comments!

Grumps looks so handsome. I think Peggy may want a matching coat - if she could lose a few pounds:-)

I remember The Teenager suffering after her braces had been tightened. Miserable, but so worth it in the end:-)

Oh knickers, I've just realized that the comment I did earlier hasn't been saved. :(

carol - he really is a miserable looking chap, even when he's happy.

S is feeling a little better now.

chrish - I certainly find it hard to deny him anything, and the family are always telling me off for it.

un peu loufoque - I only put the coats on when it's really cold, promise. R refuses to take him on wearing one though.

karen - I do feel sorry for her, but like you, never wore braces, so it's hard to imagine how it feels.

shirley wells - she's had a lovely day, not doing textiles etc, and relaxing in front of the tv.

I shall have to post a photo of him in his fighter pilot's coat.

swerdnic - ouch, that sounds horribly painful, poor you.

jj - probably

mummy - she's feeling much better now, thanks.

l-plate - R says exactly the same as TBFS. He hates it when the dog has a coat on and says he already has a thick woolley one and doesn't need another.

lane - he does look sweet, but it does the trick.

Poor things, braces are the strangest contraptions, but as you say, well worth it in the end.

Oh his little face! It give new meaning to 'pissed off'.

May I ask what textile PSHE is? I went to school in the dark ages obviously.

I'm with TF - in particular we need to see a picture of him in the high vis coat! I had braces as a teenager, so I can vouch for how much a new/tightened one hurts.

Any dog wearing a brown coat with a fake sheepskin collar can certainly be classed as "One Of The Few" - I've never seen one.

Deborah Carr (Debs) said...

tf - will definately post some, once I've managed to get the coats on him and taken pics.

claire p - I also had no idea what it was, in fact I've just had to ask S again what PSHE stands for, and it's Personal Social Health Education - there's another E on the end but she can't remember what that's for!

helen - will post pics v soon.

troy - lol, 'one of the few'. I like that.
