Finishing Corrections, North & South & Giant Schnauzers

I've finished. After six hours of staring at the screen and turning red-marked pages, I've finally finished my corrections. What a relief. So tomorrow my m/s will be flown off to the NWS and I can carry on with novel #4 that I've been slowly working on for the 100 words a day scheme.

Apart from the local one, we don't usually buy a daily newspaper but having seen an advert on the tv for free dvds for various films such as Pride & Prejudice (Colin Firth one), which naturally I have; North & South (well, of course I have this one it has the perfectly divine Richard Armitage in it) and Room With A View, which I don't yet possess with Julian Sands and Helena Bonham Carter. I shall be making sure I have a copy this week. I don't know if it's the acting, scenery or maybe having the lovely Dames, Judy Dench and Maggie Smith in it but I love this film.

After giving myself a headache from sitting in front of the computer for so long, we took Grumpy for a walk on the beach and for the first time I saw a black giant schnauzer that R and my sister have told me so much about. She was beautiful and kept trowing a crushed tennis ball into the air and then chasing it. Unlike G who growled at her and acted as if it was his beach and was most unfriendly (hence keeping him on a lead) she took absolutely no notice of him and was delightful while we chatted to her owner for a couple of minutes. Typical male, he was probably annoyed that she didn't find him fascinating.

Congratulations on finishing your m/s! Great news. I watched Colin Firth last night in Mama Mia, he was very good in it. Never knew he could sing.

just to quickly say that i have read all the posts and stuff (Thanks v much for keeping it up like i asked). the sunrise and all the temples were good. lastly, i must go soon for supper so i will just say that i am leaving on a long bus journey in the morning to Thailand for at least 12 or so hours, and then i will head off for the trek. my access to this will be limited and so i am sad to say that this will likely be my last visit to the site before i return home. keep posting daily and (dear readers) please keep giving my mum your support if she needs it guys. lots of love James xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

yvonne - thanks. I would love to see the film and must make a plan to do so.

maddie moon - thanks, I'm relieved to be sending it off.

J - thanks for the message, hope the long bus journey isn't too tedious. Keep enjoying the trip and dont forget to make the most of your time away. It will be over before you know it.

I'm absolutely fine, so stop worrying about me. R and I are working on the garden today and making the most of the sun.
Love Mum xxx (Enjoy yourself and stop worrying about us, we're fine).X

Perhaps Grumpy is in love, and just doesn't want to show it x

Hey, well done! Novel 4 eh? I'm a mere strippling by comparison :-) Hope you didn't finish off the red pen?

Just catching up Debs. I love James' comments to his mum! Sounds like he's having a great time and at the risk of sounding like an old biddy - what a lovely boy:-)

Well done on getting your m/s finished! You work so hard, you put me to shame!

Maybe Grumpy just needs some time. You know what men can be like:-)

Love the last line of your post!

And well done for finishing your rewrite. It's such a relief isn't it.

And how sweet of your son to ask us to support you. Awwww :o)

helenmh - he could be, she was rather a beautiful dog.

tam - there may be 4 but it doesnt mean they're any good! :)

lane - he is lovely, but I wish he wouldn't worry about us so much.

Thanks, it was a relief to finish it, though no doubt it will come back with countless suggestions for changes and I'll need to start all over again.

He can be so naughty, dont think he'll ever change either.

fiona - New Writer's Scheme in the RNA where the membership includes a report on one manuscript (or part) per year and it has to be with them by August (not sure if it's beginning or end of Aug)

mickmouse - ooh rejection letters are horrible, poor you.

Hope you enjoy the film, I must go and see it.

calistro - thanks, it is a relief. Now I just have to queue at the post office for English stamps.

He is sweet but I wish he wouldn't worry so much.

its been a while, buti i'm in Thailand and am beginning my trek through Erawan National Park. it turns out that i am ok with the food role and i have great news for you (not to sound nasty, but...) in a good way, because i am so busy throughout the days i spend here, i have stopped worrying so much about home, i find myself too tired. dont worry if i dont keep contact, as i am having a very wonderful time here. thanks again for all the support guys, but it is very good to hear that my mum does not need it so much. as i am in Thailand, i am halfway through the expedition, and so it is only 2 weeks and 2 days until i see you again. stay safe, and good luck with your writing. love ya, bye.

carol - thanks, I'm going to celebrate by not writing for one day - apart from my 100 words and this blog of course.

Thanks, J is a lovely chap.

J - I'm thrilled that you've stopped worrying - we're not doing anything exciting, just the usual, home/work/home routine so make the most of the 2 weeks you have left and enjoy every second. You'll see enough of us when you get home.

Thanks for the b/d wishes to nana t too, I shall tell her. Sas took a couple of your messages to your Dad and he's also thrilled that you're having such a lovely time. Chris is over and has taken H out for a walk a few times. Love Mumxxx

Congrats on both finishing the editing and see a giant schnauzer! They are my favorite by far. Anyone with six teenagers more than deserves a writing shed!
