Bathing Divadog & Other To Do Jobs

Sometimes you just have to do things that make you unpopular. Last night I bathed the divadog. As you can see from the grumpier-than-usual expression, he was not remotely impressed with my efforts. Someone has to be the baddie though, and strangely enough when it comes to bathing, I'm reminded that 'he's your dog', whereas when he's being all cute and cuddly, he's the family pet.

So, after spending two hours on my Wip - I've now reached 10,000 words and really getting in the swing of things - then having to spend another two hours studying for my exam. Groan, the less said about that the better. I thought, as I'd been promising to bath Himself that I should jolly well get on and do it.

As you can tell from this last picture, which was taken after he'd been blow-dried, he's still seriously put out by the entire experience. You'd think he'd be used to being bathed by now. Obviously not.

Now, at least, he's clean and I can get on with my WiP; a couple of reviews I need to do; preparing a short story; more studying (sigh) and spending some quality time with my family.

Have a great weekend, oh and don't forget to put your clocks forward one hour tonight.

Well done too on your WIP and I'm sure the little mut actually likes being bathed but just wouldn't admit it. I'm sure he feels better anyway.
Enjoy your weekend.

dj - he's such a character and very sweet when he's not being so flippin' miserable. Thanks re the exam, I'll be glad when it's all over on 16 July.

sheepish - he loves being clean, just hates the process of getting to that state.

You too.

Oh what a mug on your pup :( Too cute for words!

We actually put our clocks ahead a couple weeks ago here. I liked it better when we waited until April to do so. Spring ahead ...

LOL! What great photos! Looks like he really loved that bath. Not!

Who does the "how I've been imposed upon" look better than a clean dog? I was just inspecting my own charge and thinking he needed the same. We have a pet supply store that operates a self service dog laundry in the back. Tall tubs save your back.

Have a relaxing and productive weekend Debs.

He is such a photogenic little character, even when he's grumpy. Yay for your word count! And best of luck with the studying. Short story... eek... so far I have a name for my main character and that's it. Must try harder!

joanne - I know, bless him.

It makes life a little easier when our clocks go forward as then there's only 1 hours difference when I phone my mother.

kaye - I know, he hates them.

faye - that sounds like a great idea. I wish we had a pet supply store that offered the same facilities, although it's not so bad with a little dog. I'd hate to have to bathe a large dog.

suzanne - thanks. He can be very cute, when he decideds to be.

queenie - thanks.

I haven't started the short story at all yet and really should get a move on.

I don't know about smile, DJ, photos of Grumpy make me giggle so much.

Debs, you should be great at naming characters in your book as you could never have picked a more apt name.

I love Grumpy! xx

Lovely pics, that's quite an expression! I had to wash one of my rabbits at the weekend and she wasn't impressed with that either, although she loves the hairdryer, very odd. Just in case you're left in any doubt there is a very loud stamp of the feet the moment she's back on the floor and out of reach!

Those shots are worth 10K! And congrats on that word count... :)))

Poor Grumps! I'm always deeply unpopular when it comes around to f-l-e-a treatment time.

I've had to bath Molls every day for the past week or so given this weather - love the pics though!

Have to smile at that last picture, he looks so outraged at being nice and clean.
Good luck with the WIP and the studying.

How funny, my youngest son looks that miserable when I insist that he takes a bath!!

He looks totally PO! Well done on the word count.

Aww, poor Grumps. Daughter walked by while I was reading your post and said 'That looks like a mean dog". LOL I told her he wasn't mean, just post-bath grumpy.

Oh, how did I miss this? His face is a picture!

l-plate - glad he makes you giggle, he constantly amuses me too.

carol - he does, doesn't he?

My studying is no where near as difficult as yours is m'dear. I could never do what you're doing. You have my admiration.

denise - so cute. I can just picture a cross bunny having a blowdry.

anna - thanks, I need to really get going now.

helen - I can imagine. I wonder if the first cat tips off the others that it's flea-ridding time?

flowerpot - every day? Crikey, I'd be worn out if I had to fight with Grumps that often.

leigh - he was very unimpressed with my efforts.

serendipity - I remember when mine did too.

phillipa - he certainly does. Thanks.

B E - lol, he does look a little mean, bless him. Now he looks more like a teddy bear.

chris - I know. He certainly doesn't agree with hiding how he feels.

casdok - thanks, I think you're right.

Dear C, the hour change can be so disruptive.
