A Mixed Day

This is a picture of the sunset the other evening taken from my conservatory door.

Today has been a bit of a mixture.

On the negative side:

- Ex-husband and I have bank accounts at the same branch and when he went to withdraw funds from his account to pay them into mine yesterday, it appears that they've somehow withdrawn the funds FROM my account! I phoned them and now have to complete a form to investigate this error. Meanwhile I'm missing a couple of hundred pounds.

- Both of my printers - one newish Kodak ESP-3 that may have cheaper cartridges (as advertised) but they seem to empty far quicker than any other printers I've ever had and always seem to be running out, and another printer have both given up and neither will print well enough for me to read through my edits. Printing problem now solved by kindly sister printing up my wip at her house and bringing it over.

On the plus side:
- Glorious sunny weather
- I've finished editing my book (again).
- I've lost 6lbs since giving up chocolate for Lent and starting to count calories.
- Here's a chance to win five copies of Pippa Wright's, Lizzie Harrison Loses Control over at Novelicious

Now, if the bank will just sort out my money issue and either of my printers will start printing so that I can read my wip out loud and correct any errors, I'll be most grateful.

Until that time, I'm going to pour a glass of wine and go and sit in the conservatory and read. Ahhhh.

Bank errors are terrible to deal with. I've had to deal with failing printers lately too. On the other hand, it sounds like some good things are in your favor as well. Just the thought of pouring a glass of wine and going to a wonderful place to read makes even me feel more relaxed!

Oh how frustrating and financially painful! Hope the wine and reading are making it all better.

Banks. Huh. Hope they sort the error out quickly.

Hugs for the negatives and big yays for the positives.

Love the good news. And the bad, ugh, but sounds sortable though excessively annoying. the view outside your window is bliss, though.

Well done on giving up chocolate - I'm eating creme eggs in the lead up to Easter! Lovely sunset.

What a beautiful picture. I'm sorry to hear about the bank thing and the printers, but way to go on losing 6lbs! =o)

At least the positive things just about outweighed the negative! Hope the bank thing is sorted out soon though - what a pain.

And well done on losing 6lbs - I really must give up eating cake!

Urgh, I hate having to deal with banks! Good luck!

Well done on the weight loss...you've done brilliantly!

It's very concerning at how easily the simplest mistake can happen. Love the convenience of online banking but still old-fashioned enough to like to "wool" my money! I help my elderly sister with her banking and decided to not do online for her because didn't want our two accounts to get muddled. Hopefully, your bank will not keep you in limbo too long. At least you don't need chocolate funds! Good job on the weight loss.

And always a good idea to look up at the sky when things are irritating--lovely photo, Debs.

That is a GORGEOUS sunset!!

So sorry about the mishaps; nothing like a wonky printer to make other issues seem a tad overwhelming! But big congrats on that nearly half stone! I think California is receiving all of Great Britain's rain. :)))

Y'know, I could probably lose weight faster if I gave up chocolate. I just don't know if I have the will power to do it! Good for you on the six-pound loss!!!

kaye - I'm grateful these are the only things I have to grumble about. Thankfully everything else is fabulous.x

dj - it certainly helped.

suzanne - many thanks m'dear.

sue - it is all sortable, thankfully. That was such a beautiful sunset, I was glad I thought to photograph it.

rosemary - ooh, what I'd give for a cream egg right now... Two printers going begging!

B E - 6lb was good. Now I just have to keep going.

karen - you certainly don't look as if you over indulge in cake :)

carol - I hope the bank sort it out soon, but the lack of those extra 6lbs are pounds that I don't mind losing.

faye - there's usually something in the sky that cheers me up. So pretty.

anna - poor you with all the rain. I hope it doesn't come racing back this way too quickly.

melissa - thanks. Strangely enough it hasn't been too difficult, so far.

I've just beeen wrangling with banks today as well. The idea of a glass of wine nad book in your conservatory sounds fab!

talli - the bank and printer saga is still ongoing unfortunately. More wine maybe?

flowerpot - poor you, that doesn't sound like much fun at all.

The conservatory always manages to relax me, especially when it's sunny and warm in there.

The price of printer inks is outrageous. If most of what you print out is writing WIP have you considered just getting a black only laser printer. That's what I did (not because I write, but because I'm tight!)and laser cartridges costing about £30 last a good year between changes.

troy - I may buy a cheap b/w one for the shed, but we need a colour printer for other bits and pieces unfortunately.

Lovely photo, Debs. As for ex-husbands and bank errors... The least said the better, and they do get sorted eventually.

liane - thanks, it was such a pretty sunset.

Re the ex & bank bit, I completely agree.

Well done on finishing the editing, always a relief.

That's poor practice by your bank isn't it. I'd have been furious.

crystal jigsaw - I've completed the form the bank sent me and thankfully my ex-husband reimbursed the money to my account. Worrying though that this could happen!
