Pups Leaving, YA Novel & NaNoWriMo 2011

Do you think Milo is sad that he's leaving the rest of the puppies? Actually he's one of three leaving early next week and I'll be sorry to see him go. The beautiful pup I posted on Facebook (Mowgli)is also going as is one of the black girl pups. Milo is going to a friend of my sister's so my sis will still be able to see him regularly, which will be nice. The pups are causing a bit of mayhem now and sis's garden looks like it's been ransacked.

I'm 2/3 through editing my WW1 novel and having received wonderful suggestions and support from my RNA NWS Reader, I hope to finish my edits by the end of this weekend. I'll then probably take a few days to read a book before I take a look at the dirty draft of my first attempt at a YA novel. I started this during NaNoWriMo 2009 and haven't had the time to look at it since then. So maybe now is the time to do so. I enjoyed taking part in NaNoWriMo 2010 too and managed to write the required 50,000 words for both the years I took part.

If you haven't taken part before and need something to spur you on, then NaNoWriMo 2011 is a great way to do it. Both times I reached the half-way point and wondered why I was putting myself through such a battle, but in the end it was very satisfying to achieve 50,000 words in 30 days.

I'll be visiting the pups again tomorrow morning before having lunch with a very good friend who is over in Jersey with her husband for a week. Can't wait. What are you hoping to do this weekend?

I really hope Milo isn't sad. On the plus side, he'll be Top Dog with his new owners and I'm sure he'll have lots of fun once he gets settled in.

Good luck with NaNoWriMo!

Have a lovely weekend. I have cleaning planned. (So I'll probably read instead. ;))

I've had a lovely time catching up with the pups. Oh, Milo's face though - poor thing! I'm sure he'll be very happy with his new owners though. And good luck with all the writing the YA novel sounds like as interesting new direction.

Oh that face! Those are some of the most beautiful puppies I have ever seen... :)))

I'm hoping to poke about some antique shops, looking for more old photos. And maybe eat some autumnal BBQ, as the weather is supposed to be nice! Then Sunday is footie, oh my, I love American football!

So glad you liked that Steve Jobs quote; it really hit me too. Such a loss, but he lived his life to the fullest. We artistic types need to be reminded of staying true to our vision, what drives us. Life is short and we need to make the most of what we have!

Have a lovely weekend!

I think this is just Milo's natural expression. Too sweet.

The Steve Jobs quote was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you for posting it, Anna.

Oh, I do like Milo, Debs - it must be quite sad when they start to leave. You're getting on well with your novel. I was just thinking about NaNoWriMo during the week - I've never tried it and am tempted. I do have an adjudication to do during November, but maybe I could manage this too. Will seriously consider it.

By the way, I gave you a Friendly Blogger Award today - you can pick it up at my readingandwriting blog whenever convenient!

Those beautiful pups--we'll be sorry to not see their faces here, Debs. Any time you run into them be sure they know their fans miss them. :-)

YA? Is that a young author novel? Henning Mankell, a favorite Scandinavian crime writer, also has written several books for young readers. Didn't know that genre was in your bag of tricks.

Weekend plans? Read about the WW II Danish Resistence, photograph fall, and FORCE myself to see the new George Clooney movie "Ides of March" about dirty American politics.

What a face! Oh, I just want to cuddle with him...

Plans for this weekend. Hmm. I may work on the synopsis and do some plotting for the next novel. But I also am going to spend some time with my daughter. We're thinking miniature golf!

Just showed my oldest daughter the photo of Milo - think she fell in love a teeny bit.

I was thinking of taking part in Nano this year (never done it before) but there is no way I will have finished the editing of my book by then and I don't want to leave it and go back later. Maybe next year.

I still have more pics of the pups and some will be with sis for a couple of weeks.

I wish I could do NaNo. I love taking part and recommend it to anyone thinking of taking past.
