I Like My Postman

I phoned R from work today (anything to stop bookkeeping for a moment) and asked if the postman had been.
"Yeeeessss," he said.
"Was there anything for me?"
"Yeeesss."
"Ooh, what?"
"Guess."

Well, I knew that it couldn't be a DVD, as Mamma Mia isn't due out yet, so it had to be a book. It was my copy of Cafe Au Lait, Liane Spicer's gorgeous looking book, for more info please go to her site here. I've had a quick peek, as I do, and it looks a great read. I can't wait to get started.

I arrived home to J & S having a row (honestly, teenagers, they always have enough energy for arguing) about bringing the bin in. It is ONE bin, that needs to be pulled up the drive ONCE a week and it has wheels for heaven's sake. How hard can that be?

S is in a bad mood as she has a badly grazed knee (father's Rhodesian Ridgeback pulled her over yesterday), mind you, it hasn't stopped her being chosen for the school football team to play tomorrow after school. She's delighted, I'm not quite so thrilled as it'll mean driving through the school traffic and then the later rush hour to go and collect her.

It's my brother's 40th birthday tomorrow, so Happy Birthday, Jx

Yay Cafe au Lait, that's next on my "to buy" list when I'm finally making money again!

Looking forward to Liane's book too!

Mine dds are on recycling duty. You'd think it was rocket science the way they carry on:-)

I get Jason to do recycling and the bins. He's very good at it!

I'm getting some excellent heads up about books you've ordered that I wouldn't normally see this side of the pond. And, it seems, the covers are always delicious. Checked out the review of Cafe. . .and will see if Amazon carries. Always interested in an island read.

BTW, like your new avitar--or whatever the thumbnail image on your comments happens to be called. Someday I hope to figure out. Girl on the beach with best friend. . .lovely.

yvonne - I can't wait to read it and the cover is gorgeous.

lane - lol, they can make such dramas out of so little, can't they? Bless their cotton socks!!

helenmh - now that's a clever woman for you. I shall have to do the same.

faye - Cafe au Lait can be bought through Amazon, that's where I ordered my copy from too.

I know, isn't it great and it's not that hard to do either.

dj kirkby - my mother tells me that mine are here to pay me back for how I was with her when I was young.

flowerpot - I shall do so.

Oh dear, my comment has vanished!
Very odd. I can't remember what I said now - something about my son thinking pixies pick his socks up after him.
Enjoy your book x

annie bright - I hate it when that happens.

I think my son believes in the same pixies that yours does, as he never manages to pick his clothes up from the floor after taking them off.

Thanks x

I've got a copy too. All I need now is the time to read it.

Please don't disillusion me...my children are 5 (in a fortnight) and 3 and a half. I'm dreaming of the days when they are older and can do things for themselves (other than make a mess). You know prepare a simple meal, make a bed, take out rubbish etc. We've just conquered get yourself dressed - tho' of course it would be much quicker if I did it!

Thanks for the comment on my blog!

Ooh, Debs, you've got it! I do hope you enjoy the read!

Had to do a double take when your comment popped up on my blog. I like the new avatar too.

Glad you survivied the book keeping!!

zinnia cyclamen - I know what you mean, I have so many books I need to read but so little time to actually get reading them.

lori x - don't worry, it's not all bad. At least mine do get dressed by themselves and are fairly independent. I'm still waiting for them to stop bickering and do simple basic tasks (never going to happen, I think). As for cooking a meal, I shan't hold my breath. x

wordtryst - I've had a sneaky peak and I'm sure I'm going to love it.

tam - I did survive but had to give some of it to a dear girl in the accounts department who just laughed when she saw me coming towards her.

My two teenage stepsons ALWAYS have energy for either arguing or messing around and breaking things. Sigh...
