It's Little Black Dress Thursday over at Novelicious and today you'll find my reviews on these two books, The Revenge of Lady Muck by Anne Dunlop and You Kill Me by Alison Gaylin
Last week I mentioned that I had some exciting news. It's not at all writerly, but it will mean a big change for me. Last Thursday I was offered an amazing new job by a well-known company, and today I gave in my notice at the company where I've been working for the past nine years. I've made so many friends where I am now, but as I already see quite a few of them out of the office, I'll no doubt keep in contact with them. I'm looking forward to it, but I'll be glad to get passed the first week and start settling down into it.
Last night I watched the divine, heavenly (I have many more adjectives to describe him) Richard Armitage in Strikeback and loved it, and I promise it wasn't only because he took his top off a few times. Even Rob admitted that he enjoyed the second episode (he was out for the first one) which makes a change because usually when I'm sighing in front of the tv whilst watching Mr Armitage is doing his thing, the rest of the family usually roll their eyes and go and find something else to do in a different part of the house. I also have to admit to having a soft spot for Colin Salmon; he's rather gorgeous to look at too.
Right, better go. I've changed out of my work clothes and into my chill out trackie bottoms and resemble a rather badly dressed bag lady, and daughter has just announced, with her usual brilliant timing, that she needs more damn cooking ingredients from the shop. If only we lived closer to the shops, she could walk there.

Congrats on the new job!!! I hope it is a wonderful new chapter in your life!
Great news, Debs! (Do they understand about sheds?)
Great news re the new job :)
WOW! wonderful news! Well done :-) I think this is a great excuse for a new wardrobe (although personally I'm rather partial to the bag lady look) - lol x
melissa - thanks you, I do hope so.
jan - thanks. I haven't mentioned the shed yet.
tf - many thanks.
alice - funnily enough they dress down in this office all the time, which will be strange for me as I'm used to having to be fairly smart. No doubt I'll soon get used to it. Shame I won't be able to wear the trackie pants though.
Hurrah for the new job!! Meant to email you about it. I shall do... Lovely reviews :)
kirsty - many thanks about the job & reviews ;)
Exciting changes in store for you, best wishes with your new job :)

queenie - thanks. I do have to work one months notice, but am lucky as I'm on an old contract. If I was on one of the newer ones I'd have to give 12 weeks notice!
flowerpot - many thanks.
sueg - thank you. We can't vote in the General Election over here, so it's not quite so important to all of us.
chris - thanks very much for saying you like the reviews, it's always good to hear that. Thanks about the job too. I'm nervous, but also excited to be there.

suzanne - I'm looking forward to the new job, but nervous too, of course.
Thank you for the review of The Revenge of Lady Muck - why don't you send me one of your novels and I'll review it on my blog?
How exciting Debs, to be starting a new job. It's good to stretch a bit in that area although may not feel that way at first. And you can keep up with friends from old work place although it can be a challenge sometimes. Just depends on how strong the friendship is.
And lucky girl to be getting to see Strikeback and the lovely RA. I've been keeping up with this show on RA online but there's no extended clips of it yet. Have to content myself with Spooks 7 on Netflix.
pineapple tart - thank you for your comment. I enjoyed your book and am looking forward to reading more. Rupert Glass was gorgeous.
faye - I'm looking forward to the new job, although it will be a little strange at first no doubt, but after nine years in the same place, I think I'm ready for this change.
Strike Back is wonderful and I'm loving RA in it. I even dreamt about him the other night too. I do hope you get the series over there soon.
