A New Niece & Too Much Chocolate
Phew, that was a busy Christmas. My son was a little delayed, but arrived on 23rd, the same day my sister in law went into hospital to have her daughter.
Amelie finally arrived just after 1am on Christmas morning, so the family has more to celebrate than usual this Christmas. The weather was gloriously sunny and everyone had a wonderful time. I had some fabulous presents, including a new camera, a Kindle (sooo in love with it), the Les Miserables DVD celebrating the 25th anniversary concert and a CD, a gorgeous poppy mug (favourite flowers), a docking station for my Ipod (am going to try listening to music whilst I write in the shed), and a calendar with pictures of the grumpy one on every month.
We've just come back from The Old Smugglers Inn where we had lunch before my step-son had to go to the airport to return home. My son has helped me move the furniture back to where it should be and am now working my way through loads of washing. (James has finally unpacked his uni bag...)
It's back to work for me tomorrow, but only for two days, then I can look forward to another four days off. Having eaten far too many chocolates, it isn't going to be too hard to think of my New Year Resolutions for 2011.

A Merry Christmas baby-very nice. Love all your presents--Santa must have listened well. Will be interested in further reviews of the Kindle. My jury is still out on that one. In a couple of months seeing a live performance of the anniversary Les M--all time favorite. I too have the all important wall calander--plein air paintings of our wonderful city parks--not nearly as cute as monthly Grumpies, but nice.
Today I'm making vegetable soup--this house is almost a chocolate free zone and not a minute too soon. Glad you've enjoyed your time away from work, Debs.
Sounds like a fantastic Christmas - what better way to celebrate than with a new baby! :)
Oh what a wonderful way to begin the holiday!! So many congrats on your new niece...
Sounds like you did well too in the pressie collection. I ate a few chocs myself, so hard not too! Good luck with the washing and enjoy those extra days off!!
Congratulations on arrival of Amelie (such a sweet name!). But congrats too on arrival of Kindle - honestly, I love mine to bits! Never thought it could happen, but wouldn't be without it now. (V.good for reading WIP on!)
Congratulations on the new niece, and nah - there's no such thing as too much chocolate!
I ate so, so very badly last weekend...the jeans are fitting tight today. But I'm back on my regular eating habit regimen again, so hopefully those jeans will loosen up soon. :-)
Glad you had a nice Christmas!
Sounds like you all had a lovely Christmas. I too had a kindle from Santa and I am very much in love with it. I have already finished Talli Roland's 'The Hating Game', which I loved. As for chocolate, you can't have too much can you?

How lovely, a Christmas Baby. Congratulations Aunty.
I also got a Kindle - only it hasn't arrived as Santa's elves are still trying to battle through the rapidly diminishing snow. Honesly, am not imprssed - the M8 was only closed for 2 days, yet some deliveries have been held up for three weeks. Can't wait, though, and have a very long list of books I'm going to buy as soon as it gets here.
Happy New Year.

faye - I'm loving my Kindle and can't think why I've taken so long to get one. I still love my paperbacks though.
I'd love to see Les Mis again, I loved it and howled throughout.
I saw your soup on your blog post and have to admit it looks incredibly tasty.
talli - thank you, and she's so pretty.
anna - I really need to give away the rest of these chocolates, I can't imagine why I'm still eating them. You would think I'd have had my fill by now.
chris - I'm trying to figure out how to sort out my wip to download it. Love this idea.
helen - you wouldn't think so, but I've eaten almost my bodyweight in the stuff.
melissa - thanks, it was great fun.
My jeans are going to give up soon too. It's diet time very soon.
lisa - I've downloaded Talli's book and can't wait to start reading it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, I've heard so many good things about this book.
suzanne - this snow has been a real pain for people waiting for deliveries. I do hope your Kindle arrives very soon and you can start enjoying it.
