Po-faced

For some reason I'm in a bad mood today and the expression on my face looks even more miserable than the dog's and that takes some doing. I know that I'll be my usual chirpy self by this afternoon but right now I'm having one of those 'is my writing ever going to be good enough' kind of days.

I have cheered myself up a tad by entering this competition with Waterstones that I found on Calistro's blog and also at Denise's blog. It was great fun to do although as you can only submit once, I had to get my thinking cap on.

Right, I'm fed up of being so po-faced, so I'm going to totter down the pathway between a flowerbed that's in desperate need of weeding (but not today) and the vegetable patch that's sporting half dug rows of potatoes, just visible tops of carrots and some rather impressive looking onions.

Happy Friday, and here's hoping the sun comes back in time for the weekend.

We all have those days, don't we? Let's hope the sun does come back and cheer us all up! Not sure it will actually improve my writing ... but you never know!

So it's YOU that's frightened the sun away, is it? Stomping about being grumpy? Of COURSE your writing is going to good enough! Now, I recommend you stop weeding and sit down with a nice cup of tea and some cake. I've just made one myself actually, so I'm going to have a slice of it in your honour.

Any excuse...

yvonne - thanks for the hug, I'm feeling a little better now.

helenmh - sun would be lovely and your writing is great.

karen - yes, it must be me. I think I shall take your advice and pop out to the shop for cake. Nothing better to cheer me up than cake and a cup of steaming tea.

Henri - sorry, but I've somehow managed to lose your comment. I dont know of any monument to the local resistance. I know there are plaques to different people where they were shot by the Germans ie I think there's one in the grounds of St Ouen's Manor. You may find more information on the Jersey War Tunnels website. Best of luck.

Hope your po-faced grump has passed. I had one yesterday and I blame the sudden lack of sun. We were all wafting around pretending to be mediterranean (sp?) and then poof ... it's gone.

Of course your writing is going to be good enough (is good enough) and I for one am very much looking forward to reading your work, so get a move on:-)

The Waterstone's comp looks fun doesn't it. Will have to get thinking. I picked up some entry cards from Waterstone's today but can't decide whether to do it on-line or not. Oh the dilemma:-)

elizabeth - thanks, I'm much happier once again, which is a relief all round.

l-plate author - thank you, hope you have a lovely weekend too. I shall keep plodding on.

lane - I think you're right about the sun going making us all a little miserable.

Best of luck with the comp. I did it online and it was fun.

Sorry to hear you're a bit blue, Debs. Like Lane, I think it's the change in weather. When the sun's shining anything seems possible and when it's not, well that's when the doubts set in.

Hope it's just a blip and you'll be back to your sunny self soon.
xx
