I managed to write a 1,500 word short story for my Jersey Eisteddfod entry last night. Unfortunately, when I re-checked the details, I noted that the word count should be around 2,500 words so will have to get back to the shed and rework it. I would have needed to go over it again anyway so it just means that I had more work to do than I had thought.
You may have noticed but I've bravely added a picture to my blog. I hate having my photo taken and have very few of me that I could choose from but this is how I look when at home with my hair up and tracksuit on. Not exactly glamorous.

Aahh - reworking. Don't you just love it!? So necessary though!
Photo (of you) is lovely and tracksuits/jim jams are 'de rigeur' for writers donchya know:-)
The other photo is lovely too. What a mellow light.
Good luck with the getting the story finished:-)
I like your photo :-) Good luck with the rewrite!
Ooh, it's nice to put a face to the words...
It is a lovely picture - so nice to put a face to the words.
helenmh - it needs all the reworking I can give it. I hope that by the time I get on with it inspiration will have appeared.
lane - thanks, I hate photos of me hence only really finding this one and that had to be cropped from something else! I look forward to sending the short story off and seeing what the judges have to say. It can only help, I hope.
liz - thanks, I'm a tad nervous as all the entries can be read by the public for a certain length of time.
spiral skies - I look as confused as I probably sound too.
Your photo looks fab. the one on my blog was taken on holiday so I had some excuse to wear clothing from the back of the wardrobe. And heels.
Possibly even tights!!!!
the horror, the horror.
I hate rewriting short stories! especially when I know the dreaded brown envelope will arrive back in a few weeks telling me FAILED AGAIN.
Your pic is lovely!
ray-anne - thanks, I thought I should be brave and put one on the blog. I think your photo is great.
motherx - I know how you feel, what is it about us that we aren't able to stop writing? Thanks about the pic, I don't like photos of myself and am usually the one behind the camera.
Hi Debs
Lovely to put a face to the picture. Well done on your short story. I'm sure it'll be fantastic, judging from your blog. I don't know why you don't like your photo taken - you look lovely!
I've had to take my pic off my blog because of my work. Once the danger has passed I'll probably put it on again!
