Raising Money for War Child

For those of you who have bought a copy of You're Not The Only One, you'll be pleased to know that we've helped raise £1,000 for the charity War Child in under three weeks, see Peach's blog. This is a brilliant result and for those of you who haven't yet bought the book, what are you waiting for?

To order the book, please click on the picture on the right of this blog and it will take you straight there. It's a great read, full of excellent stories and supporting an extremely good cause.

I'm now going to do my 100 words then dash to the shops to buy ingredients for chocolate brownies for S's cookery class on Thursday and then dropping them off at her father's house.

J is well on his way to Cambodia armed with cream for his toe and a dodgy haircut. Well, what on earth made him ask me to cut his hair. He knows how useless I am normally but at 10pm the night before he was leaving was asking for trouble. So if you come across a load of messy boys trekking in Thailand and one of them has a typical 'mother's haircut' it could be my son.

Oh that is fantastic news about war child!!!

G refuses to let me cut his hair (and the children's) after an "accident" with G's hair (but his hair grows back really quickly so I don't know what he is complaining about)...

I've bought my copy, so yay! You're brave to cut your son's hair, I'd never have the nerve to do it.

Ah - a 'mother's haircut'. The best kind to go off trekking with I would I think! He'll need another when he gets home:-)

J is very good to let you cut his hair, Connor is only 6 and he won't let me near it. I nearly traumatised myself the first time I tried it with bald patches and tufts being the result.
Great news about War Child

Your son asked you to... cut.. his ... hair??? His crowning glory, his babe pulling locks?

Wow. My gob has rarely been so smacked.

AND you make brownies!!!

I am now, officially, mega impressed.

Hope to catch up with you at the RNA conference. I shall be wearing THE SHOES on Saturday so you can't miss me. :-)

pacha - it is rather good isn't it and especially as it's such a great cause.

LOL, poor G, what on earth did you do to the poor man.

yvonne - I thought he was a little mad asking me, to be honest.

lane - I think he'll bypass my scissors and head straight for the hairdresser's on his way back from the airport!

mickmouse - poor Connor. I used to cut J's when he was small and then her refused to let me near him, but I think he must have had a touch of amnesia the other night to allow me to do it.

rayannelutenerblog - I know, mad isnt he?

It wasn't me making the brownies (my husband would laugh at the mere suggestion) it was S at school. She's a far better cook than I am.

I shall definately look out for you in THE SHOES on Saturday. I think my choices were CBBB and I've agreed to do the report on the Short Story lecture.
